is short for Vasquez and McClain. Our name is inspired by two fictional action heroes (“Vaz” is female, actually). Two rebels, two different culinary points of view bridging together two gastronomic cultures. It’s foreign + domestic, classic + modern, simple + complex,

“At 18, I took a job with Continental Airlines. I had the privilege of free flight travel while living in Texas and I took quarterly Mexican holidays. I fell in love with Mexican food and it’s stepbrother, tex-mex The freshness of the ingredients. The simplicity in preparation. The comfort in every bite. It’s a romance I felt my native beantown should experience. I’ve labeled our cooking texican. The kind that will leave you “heavily mexicated”. And I hope you like it. Thank You!
